Easy & Great for Beginners Pattern Description: This is a Sandra Betzina design, for a 4 gore skirt - one front, one back and two side pieces. The bottom is trumpet shaped. There are no side seams, just darts to shape the piece to the waist. I made the one layer version.

Highly Recommend Pattern Description: I'm guessing this Vogue pattern is out of print as I can't find it on their website. It is a fitted, slightly flared skirt, above ankle, has side button or snap waistband (elastic back), side front/side back seams, no side seams and side back zipper.

Recommend, with Modifications I made View B of this pattern -- the single layer -- in a faux suede fabric. This was a woven type fabric with a nap to it, that looks pretty authentic, and as I sewed it, it sews up much like woven microfibre.
I have to say that although the end result looks pretty good, it took a lot of fiddling more... |

Highly Recommend Here is another review of a Sandra Betzina skirt. I've been sewing skirts of late, to go with some silk knit twinsets I bought. (I'd make them if I could find some nice mid-weight silk knits in good colors!)
