| The tops are designed for stretch knits only with 35% stretch across the grain.
We suggest textured knits, stretch lace, stretch velour, panne, thermal knits or fabrics
with Lycra® spandex. The misses' tops are designed to be
close fitting. View A and B are pull-over tops that have a round neck with a self
fabric neckband. View A has long sleeves and View B has short sleeves. View C
and D have a zipper opening and a stand up collar. View C has long sleeves and View
D has short sleeves. View A is shown with a purchased belt. |

Easy & Great for Beginners I guess I should thank Jessica Simpson and my niece Olivia (age 8) for inspiring me to deconstruct this t-shirt. I saw a tabloid photo of Jessica wearing a vintage Willie Nelson tour shirt from the early 80's that had been cut down to today's body conscious style and it was wicked cute.

UPDATE 26 Oct 04: I once again sewed v.C only I made the sleeves elbow length. This time I used a floral print doubleknit bought 5 years ago. The side wrinkles you see are due to the fact that I eased in the extra fabric added in an FBA and also due to the angle of my camera arm! THis time I did more... |

Easy & Great for Beginners UPDATE(10/18/04): I finished my french dart version. I like it.
UPDATE (3/9/04): This time I made it out of polyester stretch knit (moleskin). I lowered the dart 1/2 inch. Tweak this; Tweak that; will it ever fit? Click on little image for a big image.
