Hi all,

I thought it might make sense to create a topic with links to other coverstitch tutorials/tips/techniques. We can then pin this topic. I propose to add the links to the first post, so if you have any links, feel free to add them here and I'll move them to the first post. I'll keep updating it as I find more links.

This isn't a tutorial, but I guess you could consider it a tip. I'm in the middle of making a very simple baby blanket with a yard of fleece. To hem the edges, I turned under an inch on each edge. My machine is a Janome 1000CP and I used the three-needle set-up with varigated Woolly Nylon in the looper. Stitching from the wrong side, the coverstitch makes a decorative stitch on the right side. Here's a PICTURE. I bought the center guide clear view foot and love it. Another PR member gave the tip of removing the guide so that this foot acts as a regular clear foot. It works and saves you the expense of buying that extra foot. The attachments for this machine are not cheap!

Gee does this have anything to do with your new purchase? I am assuming that you bought it this weekend.
This is a terrific idea, thanks.

I love the baby blanket stich. Where can you buy different feet for this machine. I am not having any luck.
Thanks

Kevin at Ken's Sewing (1-877-KENSSEW) has the best prices for Coverpro accessories. If you order the Center Guide Foot, which is excellent for topstitching seams, you must clearly specifiy whether you have the 900 or 1000 because the feet are different for each model.

Nancy is right about Ken's Sewing Center. It's about an hour and a half drive from me and I buy all my machines and accessories from them. I just ordered the white extension table for my coverpro from them last week. It is a special order and will take a little longer to get here, but at least they know what you are talking about when you ask them about extra feet and accessories for this machine. The only other Janome dealer near where I live doesn't have a clue.

Patricia, my guess is that Kevin simply sold out of the white extension tables. I ordered one from him less than three weeks ago and received it a couple of days after I placed my order.

Probably Ken's just was swamped by orders from PR sewists! I ordered a white extension table from them last week and they said that they were out of stock and would have to order one for me.

Thanks for all the info. I will give him a call. What accesories do I need right away? I have read about the clear cover foot and then taking the middle out (did I get that right?) then buying the binder foot that goes with it and then I can buy some after market brands of binders. I am still learning, and have so far to go.......I do love the machine......esp the stitch you used on the baby blanket. I am expecting my 4th grandchild in Sept., and still sewing for my 1 y/o gd, 9y/o gd and 15 y/o gs who doesn't want anything...
