I know that I would be quick to post a negative experience with a vendor so I want to be sure to post abuot a positive experience. I purchased a set of slopers from Your Personal Fit.

I posted my bodice sloper here for critique. I wasn't satisified with the fit and decided I would email the pictures to the vendor. Maria emailed emailed me right away and then set up a time to call me. She decided, based on the pictures, to redraft the sloper, putting in two darts in the back and reducing the bite in the waist. She is making the back armhole larger and raising the armhole.

She also gave me a bit of advice on making the pants sloper fit better. I haven't received the new sloper but I just thought that the customer service was excellent and I am sure that I will get a good fit from the new sloper pattern.

Maria was very nice and recommended contacting her if I had any problems at all.

The skirt sloper fit perfect and the pants sloper fit very well on the sides and the waist. I need to do a small change to reduce some leg wrinkles but I am confident that will be perfect. Just wanted to give a heads up if anyone is thinking about getting these for a personal christmas present.

Thanks, Sewlily I will be placing my order tomorrow. I was just waiting for your final take on the slopers.

Mochalover - I ordered mine with no ease. She usually makes these with 2-3" of personal ease but for the purposes of using these as basic blocks, I had them made without ease. Just an FYI

That does sound like good service. It is very encouraging to hear, esp after reading about the 'Design to Fit' classes/sales pitch. If you get a chance, I think it'd be useful to post a pattern review of you slopers or even a website review. Someone looking for info on Personal Fit may not necessarily check the boards.

How many measurements does it include for the pants (or for the top - just trying to get an idea)?

Something like this might be interesting to try. I'm working on my pants sloper, but perhaps something like this would make the job faster.

There are 31 measuremetns over all. With 17 for the top and 14 for the bottom.

I do intend to do a review, but I want to wait until I get the second bodice sloper and actually use the slopers to adjust patterns. I am tweaking the bottom pant sloper tonight and then I hope to use it to adjust the Artful Dodger Slouchy Man Pants from Hot Patterns. I think that will be the real test, right?

I'm very intrigued by this product and am contemplating ordering. I doubt if I ever get into pattern drafting but am looking for more of a fit and alterations tool.

Sewlily - what made you decide to order without any ease? Is that something I should consider for my purposes?

Thanks Sewlily,

I just placed my order and I'm going to order them without ease as well. I just have to wait for DH to come home to finish back measurements.

As I just typed that out I realized considering who I have taking the measurements my slopers may never fit.

I decided to do it without ease because that is what a true sloper is. That is, if I ever wanted to use the blocks to design my own patterns, I would add the ease at the points I like it rather than being bound to the ease that was designed into the sloper, if that makes sense. Every pattern has differing amounts of ease and it seems to me that having a sloper without ease makes it easier to make adjustments regardless of the pattern.

Also, I had my DH do my measurements. It was a little tense there from time to time, but we are still married! LOL.
