Pearls of Wisdom that I'm forever repeating to my kids:
- You wouldn't care what people think of you, when you realize how little they do.
- Look where you're going, not where you've been.

Date: 3/14/06 11:39 AM Oooh, I'm really interested in this class since I'm starting to get into making design changes on my patterns.
Question for Shannon about the pants fitting class: Do you know if this class will be offered relatively soon? I ask because I'd have to decide which class I want to defer, due to financial constraints.
Thanks!

Date: 3/14/06 1:08 PM What materials will be needed for this? Do we need to have a sloper fitted to our individual liking prior to starting?

Reply to Kim Winson Subject: Re: Pre Registration Q&A Date: 3/14/06 1:51 PM Kim, the pants class will be summer at the earliest. I'm thinking no sooner than June or July...if that helps with your decision:) ------ You did make a muslin, didn't you? Next page>> |

We'll be doing the actual exercises in miniature, on quarter-scale slopers which will be provided for class.

Reply to Arly Subject: Re: Pre Registration Q&A Date: 3/14/06 4:49 PM Arlene, we'll actually be talking about slopers during class. As a brief introduction, a sloper is the collection of basic shapes from which patterns are developed. For a woman's set of slopers, you'll find a bodice front, bodice back, sleeve, skirt front, skirt back. The sloper is generally pretty form-fitting, some with no ease at all. We determine the amount of ease, the shaping, and the design elements based on those basic five shapes...and that's patternmaking:)
