Date: 3/26/07 9:35 AM Mine broke in half, and I'd love to order a new one to replace, but don't know which online stores might have this.
I purchased mine years ago during the days of privately owned fabric stores that stocked dress fabrics, and sewing machines/sergers. |

Date: 3/26/07 10:35 AM I have never heard of a Fashionetics Fashion ruler. Is this, by any chance, the same thing as a French Curve ruler?
I did some checking on the internet and found nothing also. Perhaps if you post a picture someone will recognize it under another name. ------ What is Maxine saying??

Date: 3/26/07 10:55 AM I also checked the internet and it does not come up. Since this was, as you say, purchased quite awhile ago it may be considered a "vintage notion" You can try and query it as a vintage notion and see if you can come up with it on line. But I'm with the other ladies, I think you may be talking about a dressmakers curve.

Date: 3/26/07 11:43 AM Debbie has found it. I also did some research and found out it's called the Styling Design ruler. It's 12.95 and #SDR2 at Nancy's Notions. I have seen it from 11.00 and up, but just can't justify shipping, but my packaging from mine shows how to use it and it's a really great tool. It is a 4 in one ruler.
I don't have a free shipping coupon, and it would cost me 18.00 plus change to get it. Mine was marked at $6.50 when I orginally purchased it.
Greenberg and Hammer carries it, Jo Ann's online carries it. Fashionetics has a website, but there is nothing on it. They say visit in a few days. I wrote to Clotilde when I was searching and gave her the address I had on my ruler package.

Thank you everyone for looking around. I'm not too well versed on all of the internet stores. |

Date: 3/26/07 12:04 PM I've seen it on the notions wall at Jo-Ann's. You might want to try your local store. |

Date: 3/26/07 5:34 PM I've looked at the local store, but will keep looking. We do have a few more Jo Ann's, I can drive over to those also. Thanks. I am glad the rulers are still around. |

Date: 3/26/07 5:43 PM How did you break a metal ruler in half? Or was it one of those plastic kind? I'd be sure to get a metal one next time. -- Edited on 3/26/07 5:44 PM -- ------ Visit my blog at http://sewingsaga.blogspot.com

Date: 3/26/07 7:00 PM It's plastic. It was old, so I'm sure it was brittle. It made these creaking sounds anyway. I had it on my bed and a little 9yo boy threw himself on the bed, behind first, and didn't know it would be under him.
I just hugged and kissed him, and told him to scoot, and thought at the time, I could just get another one.
Thanks Leslie, I think I'll get out and about and check out some surrounding JA's. |
