Gotta get off the Rosie topic and it did move to teen idols so who was yours? Like I already told you I loved Bobby Rydell and then Neil Diamond both of whom I've seen live. So who did some of you really think was hot during your teen years or later? Sanjaya might do it for some of these young girls but he really isn't that talented IMHO I liked the Beatles when they came and Elvis was okay. There were so many 60's singers that I liked, those were the days. I remember playing 45's one song over over and over. Once I played the Supremes " You Can't Hurry Love" like that . Never did find that record after I went out and came home. I guess my parents didn't care for it as much as me.

I loved Ricky Nelson how did I forget him? How about Bobby Vee? "Take Good Care of My Baby" Peggy,we could understand the words to all the songs I stiill love the oldies station. But I still go with BR and ND as my favorites.
Can't really speak for my DD PattyU but she used to do a hilarious rendition of "For the Longest Time" by Billy Joel. She was the lead (of course) and my 3 neices were the backup singers. Too bad we didn't have a cam recorder. I don't know if she ever had a teen idol, she'll have to tell us.

Well, always wanting to be different...I had pictures of Sajid Khan and Paul Revere & the Raiders on my wall. I quickly grew tired of The Monkees and Donny Osmond at an early age. I felt that Sajid Khan had deep, mysterious eyes and I loved his silk guru jackets. (Hadn't thought of him for years until you brought this topic up)...googled him...what seemed like "an older, mature idol" now looks like a very young boy that I idolized.

I thought that Paul Revere and the Raiders were much more "grown up" for me...I was probably 9 or 10! I loved the ruffled shirts they wore...it was all about fashion even at that early age.

But, of course! I've always liked Neil Diamond, too. I remember you went to a concert sometime in the last couple of years. I like Elton John, too but I think he was a little later. Funny story, one time DS and I were watching Elton John and Emimem (sp??) sing a duet. We were both talking about how weird so and so was. Turns out he was talking about Elton John and I was talking about Eminem. We still laugh about that.

Brought back memories.....................that happened to me, too, but it was with one of Elvis' songs.

I guess I could say Elvis and Ricky Nelson were my idols, the days of Doo Wop music. I still like it. I loved the Beach Boys, too. Guess we all like what we grew up with, though.

Another Bobby Rydell fan here too -- I'm sure I could have listened to Volare all day long.

My first was Bobby Sherman, then I adored Donny Osmond.

I had forgotten about Bobby Sherman (he was too bland for me)...I also never understood the attraction to the Cowsills. I always thought they were a copy of the Osmonds, but lesser known.
