Subject: what is needed for this class Date: 7/6/07 12:30 PM

Hello Shannon,

Are there any special things needed for this class, apart from obviously a pattern, fabric and notions to make jeans? Could you publish the list of necessities before registration?

Thanks, Sigrid

Standard interfacings, thread, jeans topstitching thread, jeans button (the hammer-on type), rivets (optional), and 1/4 yard of cotton fabric for the pocket lining....I can't think of anything else right now, but I'll be sure and let you know if I do:)

Will this call be more about the actual construction and not fitting issues with jeans? Thanks!

Yes. We will discuss the fit of jeans very briefly, but the primary focus of the class is construction.

Hi Shannon,

Will you be teaching how to install a zipper and waistband? Thanks.

Shannon,

Do you have a source for the rivets and jeans button?

------
Big 4 Pattern size 12, RTW bottom: 6, RTW jacket 8, RTW top (no size fits me well!)
Measurements: 34 HB/36 FB (34C bra)/27.5/36 (and working hard to keep it that way.)
Machines: Sewing (Janome Memory Craft 3000), Serger (Pfaff Hobbylock 786), Embroidery (Janome 300E)

Yes. The rivets can be purchased at hobby stores like Hobby Lobby where leather lacings and such are sold. The jeans button I find at WalMart; it's a dungaree button often used for overalls, hammered on style.

Subject: Vogue 7481? Date: 8/5/07 11:27 PM

Is Vogue 7481 a suitable pattern? It seems to have typical jeans styling. (Oh, and it's already in my stash.)
