Date: 10/11/07 10:35 AM Hello Shannon,
I took your 'Pattern Making With Shannon Gifford' class last year. I must confess that I haven't done more than pattern making since then.
Your class was excellent, but after making patterns and cutting then up in fabric, I couldn't sew them into dresses.
Will this class help me to make clothes? Will I be able to fix linings, zippers, etc.
Juliet

Reply to JULIET Subject: Re: Pre Registration Q&A Date: 10/11/07 11:11 AM Yes, we will be covering basics such as zippers and linings, but they will be in the latter sections of the class. This first session will cover what you need to know before you ever cut into the fabric; tools and what they do, how to pretreat fabrics, that kind of thing. The second session (November) will deal with issues involved in cutting out your fabric, marking it, and applying interfacings and/or underlinings. Session three (December) will be at the sewing machine, making seams and seam finishes, zippers, pockets, etc. Session four (January) will deal with the finishing touches: hems, linings, trim, that kind of thing. ------ You did make a muslin, didn't you?
