Yahoo Photos Closure Please fix your links
MelissaB in WA Intermediate WA USA Member since 3/18/04 Posts: 1688 PR Weekend Volunteer	Login to reply to this post Like this post Date: 9/30/07 5:34 PM This is my desperate plea to please ask PR members to update their review links if you have used Yahoo Photos because members try to access the photos hosted with Yahoo we can't see them anymore (I understand they are being moved to Flickr, but I that is only what I've heard and don't have a Yahoo Photos account). I can't even being to figure the number of reviews I've looked at lately where I get a screen that pops up saying that I can't access the photo because Yahoo Photos is closed for migration (or something to that effect). Until I get time to sort them out and re-link review photos, I will add a link to the appropriate folder on Flickr, in My Profile, so anyone wanting to see a photo, can just flick thru the folder. What a nightmare for the people who have used Yahoo to have to deal with this. It's such a bummer when I'm looking back through reviews and can't see the picture of the finished product. Included among others are: Snapfish, KODAK, and Flikr. I put mine on KODAK and it was a flawless move - you get a screen to sign in on your service of choice, and then the photos are transferred for you and are in folder or folders. I had forgotten about this little detail since we're in the middle of unpacking from a move! FWIW, you can still transfer photos since I just signed up for the service a few minutes ago. And I still have broken links from Photoworks' format change in '04 to fix. The 'To Do' list is awfully long...and I gotta sew sometime ;) If you are trying to see a particular photo, leave a comment and I'll fix that one ASAP. I bet other folks would, too. Just think of all the social capital destroyed by Yahoo causing links to become unlinked - not just on this web site but I'm sure others. I'm going to work on my few, did one and it wasn't too bad but I've been a little lazy about it. After this reminder, will start up! But thanks for reminding us because so much useful info on PR comes from the photos... it would be a real loss if they're not fixed. Sew_Creative Advanced AR USA Member since 10/10/07 Posts: 212	Login to reply to this post Like this post Date: 10/18/07 0:00 AM Hi, I'm not sure this will help anyone or not but if you use Imageshack.com they will host your images and it is real easy to use , when the site comes up click the browes to find you photo off your pc then below that is a choice as to how you want them loaded I choose either the avaitar or the one that creates it for message board, anyway you'll figure it out, then click host it , after it loads it will take you to a second page, just scroll to the bottom and on the last line copy then go back to PR and on post page click on image and paste it there and whola! you have images, and if you want to resize your image from the beginning I recommend Irfanview it's great hope this helps. if you have any ?'s just let me know.
