Hi all,
I am newbie here. I recently bought a Montgomery ward signature sewing machine Model UHT J 285 C from a local thrift store. Unfortunately, the machine did not come with the manual or the patern cams, but I was able to make it work (have some prior experience). I however located and bought a manual for URR 285 model which seems to be similar if not identical to my machine. I am looking for the pattern cams (12 pattern cams, 1 button hole cam and 1 blind stitch cam - 14 in total) and was wondering if cams from other machines (specifically Kenmore) would work with my machine. I would also like to date the machine.I have included a picture of the machine.
Thank you. Any help is much appreciated.

I don't think that any of the Kenmore cams (of which there are several different types) will work.

I suggest lurking eBay and look for a listing for your machine or similar one with a photo of the cams. Also, you could try the wefixit yahoo group (search the archives) or the vintage Japan Sewing yahoo group for info on the cams.
