Date: 11/18/07 10:50 PM I found terry cloth at Joann's; it was on sale 40% off last week, plus the additional 10% off coupon for Veteran's Day. They had a nice variety of pastels, but no white. (I'm making hooded baby towels.) The terry is pretty good; I've washed it and it is soft and fairly thick, but I'd like to know if there's other good stuff out there. It seems like soft, thick terry is hard to find. I had some stuff from Sew Baby one time that was the ultimate terry-like butter.! I prefer all cotton so that the absorbancy is good. Thanks. |

While I don't have any special sources for cotton terry cloth, other than a few local stores, I did get samples of bamboo fabrics from Bamboo Fabrics. They have a single sided terry that is 100% bamboo, and a thicker "two-sided" terry which is a blend of bamboo, cotton and poly. All the samples were white, and I understand it can easily be dyed.

Date: 1/3/12 2:17 PM The last terry cloth I bought was from Wazoodle link. I made a warm and comfy bathrode four or five years ago. It is still in excellent condition. I noticed they have a selection of white terry. However, probably not as cheap and Joann, but definitely quality fabric. ------
My hope is to sew to the very end. They'll find my head slumped over my precious Kenmore 19606 and have to pry the seam ripper from my cold, dead hands. |
