Can anyone please tell me what this fabric is? I am guessing it is some kind of knit? Is it a poly jersey? Bigger than a bread box?

Hmmm. They don't give you much info at that site, do they? I guess they assume we know all the abbreviations.

:D

No doubt someone will come along who knows. Or you could contact Spandex House and ask....

Could be way off base here, but I seem to remember ITY knits from Fabric Mart were Italian (ITY) knits.

Interlock Twist Yarn (I believe).

It's a polyester jersey.

ITY Jersey

Interlock twist jersey is a medium weight jersey knit that is available in a wide variety of prints. This fabric is soft, beautiful, and comfortable to wear! Itís perfect for travel, as well.

Fabric Mart had a bunch of it last spring/summer and I bought some. I just finished (remade) a dress from it (finished it for the UFO challenge. It's wonderfully soft and comfortable to wear. I'd say medium weight is a good description. Not nearly as slippery or fine as the Buttermilk knits EOS has

I bought some from Fabric Mart last year as well. It's polyester and quite nice. I used it for sleeveless knit dresses. I'm pretty sensitive to breathability issues and it's fine for a sleeveless dress but I personally wouldn't like it for something with sleeves.

I wondered if it was just me, but I don't like the polyester ITY fabrics because they don't breathe and, while they sew up and look great, they aren't comfortable.

This might seem like a silly question, but are there "kinds" of polyesters? I've bought lots of rayon/lycras but the direction for suppliers seems to be heading toward more polyester.

Any opinions?
