I am trying to make this dress (view A) and the directions seem woefully inadequate. I've been sewing on and off for a long time and have never had issues reading patterns before. However, I've barely gotten past step 3 (but I'm not sure if I did exactly what I was supposed to) and am just stuck. Has anyone completed this pattern? I'd appreciate any help! I can submit more details if there's someone out there that can help.

I have this pattern and just looked at the instructions. I'm guessing that you're being thrown off because the pic makes it look like there are 2 pieces for each armhole binding/strap, and that you have to match them and sew them together.

But the pic is misleading. You only need one piece per strap. What you have to do is to stitch the strap to the dress, just like the picture shows. After you do this, fold the strap over and stitch it down. This is not easy to do if you're a beginner, but if you sew slowly, you will probably be able to avoid sewing crooked. If you're sewing with a knit that stretches out of shape easily, you might want to hand stitch this part.

edited to add: Oops! I just saw that you're at the intermediate level, so please disregard what I said about sewing crooked. That's probably not going to be a problem for you.

HTH,
Em

Em

My name is Christine and I live in Brisbane Australia, and I have been searching for this pattern for a long time. Are you able to help me either by selling me your pattern or making a copy for me to buy.I have even contacted the pattern company with no luck.
