Amazing Tutorials Where to find tutorials on the web

Date: 4/23/08 12:03 PM I thought it would be handy to have a list of everyone's favorite tutorials. I poked around a bit and didn't see this topic anywhere. I'll start off with my favorite Welt Pocket Tutorial. Debbie Cook, is this one yours? Date: 4/23/08 12:22 PM This isn't a single tutorial, but I constantly refer to the section on Debbie's web site for how to do an FBA on various types of tops (Just yesterday, I used the raglan sleeve version where she rotates the dart to the side seam.) Date: 4/23/08 12:41 PM Debbie Cook takes the cake for FBA tutorials, and for all the rest - pretty much Kathleen Fasanella has the tutorial market sewn up. (pun intended) If you aren't familiar with her tutorials, run don't walk, to her site. Her Fashion Incubator tutorials index is on the left sidebar about 2" down the page. EditWell, I'm really glad you started this thread, because I didn't even know Debbie Cook had a whole list of tutorials. I followed the link and was pleasantly surprised. Between Kathleen and Debbie, most of us should be all set for awhile. There is a nice tutorial on installing an invisible zipper with the seam already sewn to avoid the below zipper bubble that I've successfully used.

But I think she does hers backwards? I know I always have to change something to make the fly look RTW. And she doesn't cover fly guards at all, so I've had to wing that one. Sarah Veblen on neckline binding for knits Binding knits - totally terrific video on both the concept and execution of neckline binding. Plus ideas on how to expand into turtlenecks. As a SAHM, knits are my bread and butter, and this video really opened my eyes on how to achieve a professional finish. Shirley Smith on Conquering Inside Corners I've been designing more, and my designs involved inside corners an awful lot, but I didn't know how to sew them. I owe a huge debt to the Sewing Divas for helping me make my first Chanel jacket, and Ann's tips on Gorgeous Things (and CraftStylish, formerly BeSewStylish) are lifesavers.
