Yeh! , were a group of two so far. I know the are more sewers in the area .Hopefully a few more will join us. What type of things do you like to sew ?. I love table linens but getting into more baby items. The patterns out there are so outdated I found so am trying to come up w/something new. When I see something really cool at the store or on my grandbaby I take it apart to re-invent...ha.

Hello.!!!..I mostly sew clothing...I sew all my tailored suits and just about anything else I want to actually fit. I do some home dec (made slip covers for my sectional sofa that I cant seem to part with) and I make some clothing for my 6 year old daughter.

maybe we could find a date that we could all meet up for lunch at something like that. I am pretty much open most days except Fridays. I sew mostly childrens and baby wear. However I also make tale linens, shirts for myslef. hats of various size and some draperies, I have yet to conquer the machine made ruffle. The pintuck, smocking and roman blinds. So much to do amd not enough time. Give e your ideas. Would you like to meet up an a reglar basis. I knoe I love talking sewing.

I live in Tampa, and I prefer garment sewing for myself although I do some home dec, purses, and occasionally make garments for my granddaughters. These days, however, most of my time is spent caring for my elderly father in late-stage renal failure. I will enjoy following the discussion here, at least for the foreseeable future, until I can actually return to sewing (not that I wish ill to my father, you understand).

Well I work during the week but if you want to meet for lunch I can breakaway if its close enough to work. It would have to be in the Largo area. Otherwise, if you want to meet for lunch on the weekend I can on April 19th. The only day that is not available is April 16th and this weekend.

I understand you situation right now as a retired nurse who has worked w/dialysis and transplant patients. There are no quick fixes unfortunatley. Sewing for me gives me the relaxation such as art would or yoga for others. I turn up the classical music and sew most of the day. Only stopping for snack breaks , throwing laundry in the washer and fixing dinner. I find it annoying when the phone rings and I have to stop in the middle of something ( when your on a roll almost done ) I will be trying my 1st tote style bag tomorrow with fabric donated from home decor samples given to me. I though a mix w/denin may look pretty good too. As a breast cancer survivor ( 3 years) I am planning to make and donate some chemo hats to my local oncology group.
Stylish head scarfs and hats were hard to find and expensive when I went through 6 months os chemo. Never wore a wig. If anyone would be intertested in joining me on this endevour let me know. I have a design I will be trying out really soon and would be happy to share if I like the finished product. Perhaps we could contribute as a group doing this community project ( for free). Just a thought.
