I got up early this am and clicked thru the tv channels and came across the infomercial for the Malibu Pilates Chair with dvds. Looked good, sounded good (as all infomercial do). So I pulled up the website and clicked thru searching for the total price. Finally I found in small print, it appears with shipping and the 14.99 price for a 30 trial to be just under $350 total. Sounds pricey to me. The big pull is within 10 days you are suppose to drop a dress size!!.. So my ultimate question is does it work!!!!!!!! Any information from anyone????

ps fyi I am not committing to purchasing one at this time, but curious....thanks

You might want to look at it here. All the pilates products I have used are very nice.

pilates chair

I think you can watch a video there as well. Their policy on items is very good.

Thanks Jannie, seems like mixed reviews especially the first few. Something to consider, and wait on, especially at that price!

I'm not a fitness pro, but if I were going to buy just one piece of Pilates equipment, I would get a Reformer. You'd have to spend more money, though.

You know, most of the TV sites have them. HSN.com and QVC.com and shopnbc.com. They do deals on them from time to time and they usually have the pay they stretch out over several months. I think Dick's or Sports Authority may carry them. They are nice machines. I got mine from QVC I think.

I haven't bought one myself, so I'm not much help there. But when I've had private Pilates sessions, the reformer was the piece of equipment that I enjoyed most and felt I got the most benefit from. I've seen prices from $350 to $2500 (for a high-end studio model meant for high-volume use), so there's a lot of variety. I hope you find something you like!
