Date: 6/18/04 6:45 PM Quite a few of us have excellent taste, being both sewists and cat-owners... er, I mean owned by cats.
This is my sewing partner, who usually makes his presence known by taking my chair when I get up to cut something out.

...as well as a webpage with more pictures than you can shake a string at.

DH with his love, Tulip
Mr. Bonkers and Carmen are from the same shelter. I met Tulip at a party. The hostess had gotten her from a woman w/ 6 yo twin boys who couldn't take care of her. Neither could the hostess, so I took her in. She and DH fell in love. ------ Nikki Medved

Date: 6/18/04 9:00 PM I love seeing everyone's sewing assistants! I am co-owned by six furry ones:
Tigger Mommy's little booboo boy and the king of the house!
Winnie The Pooh My favorite little sewing assistant! The sewing room is her favorite place to be.
Kanga A former stray, she took a long time to bond with us. She is definitely the Lady of the House as she tries to keep everyone else in line.
Sacha She is very shy and tends to stay in DS's room - we think she was abused before we got her.
Lucy Another former stray, DH found her at his office. Such a little sweetie - she "helps" me work during the day.
Ricki The runt of the litter - I took her *everywhere* with me in a picnic basket for the first few weeks. I was worried one of the other kitties would harm her. Now she is very attached to me and wants constant cuddling. As it turns out, she is our biggest cat! |

This isn't a great shot of Winnie, but you can see her enjoying her new cat tent.

Max and Katie....Sittin' in a Tree!
This was taken a few months ago, so they've grown since then....well Max sure has. Katie is a tiny tortoise, weighing about 8 lbs. Max appears to be a Maine Coon, or at least partially Maine Coon. We adopted them last November from the Humane Society. They are not litter mates but get along quite well. ------ Leah

Date: 6/19/04 11:31 AM Unfortunately I live in an apartment where pets are not allowed. Moreover I have trouble looking after just myself. I have decided, however, that if I am reincarnated, I want to come back as one of the outdoor cats who live in the park along the Zenpukuji River (more like a stream actually) in Tokyo. I go walking and jogging there at all hours of the day, and I have discovered that these cats get fed about every half-hour by numerous good souls who have taken it upon themselves to look after them. Sometimes they get their meals on fine china and someone comes along in the morning and covers them with blankets (though it never really gets that cold in Tokyo). They basically spend their days eating and sunning themselves, and they have shelters for inclement weather.
However now that I think about it, perhaps I should come back as a cat of a PR member. That way I could put my sewing skills to work in the next life! |
