From what others have said, the nasty message came from Fitting Woes, NOT Misc Hot Topics or the Civility thread.

What a great idea Em!

I'll be sure to post any reviews that see here! I wonder if this thread could be made sticky?

And thanks for linking my review. Hopefully, warmer weather is around the corner so that I can wear it again!

This is a good idea! It can be hard to search for vintage pattern reviews on the site. OOP doesn't necessary equal vintage, and the vintage reviews also end up in all sorts of categories. I've wondered if having a category or box or something so you could add the decade the pattern was from when you make a review might be helpful.

There are some very nice reviews from the Vintage Pattern contest:

Here is a dress I finished earlier this week McCalls from 1955.

It's a muslin as I plan to eventually make this in silk satin.

Thanks for starting this thread, Em! Yup, I am also a vintage freak... Kellie, I adore this dress on you! Since your "muslin" already looks so fine, just imagine how your "real" will be!

I started posting a few of mine. Since I usually costume people in the 1930-1960's eras I typically like to use vintage patterns. My grandmother left me quite a few (some are still in storage) and then I got some when the theater I was working for was cleaning their costume shop. We found a box full.

How old must it be to be called "vintage" here? I think this is a great idea btw. :)

I came up lucky in my local thrift shop today. I ended up with 8 patterns from the very early sicties to the early seventies, all for 99 cents apiece. They have been used, but seem to be intact and in good condition.
Any tips for dating the ones that don't have a year printed anywhere on the pkg or the instructions?
