Where to find Fortuny-pleated fabric? Is this even possible for non-couture sewers?

I found a shirt at Goodwill that is a shiny polyester junky thing with similar pleats, and I'm making it into a skirt, but I would really love to actually have some decent Fortuny-pleated fabric! Can anyone help? ------ And as you sew, so shall you rip.

We did this for a dressmaker client's client last year. From time to time I have seen pleated fabric as pictured in that store. If I were you I would call or stop in and show them your picture. As far as I know, the actual Fortuny process remains unknown. The discussion on this page indicates that Fortuny used pure silk and that the pleats were permanent and did not require re-setting.
