Date: 6/30/09 10:14 PM I love this fabric and keep looking at it on fabricmart.com. It is now an exrta 50% off. I worry, though, that if I don't pick the right pattern, I could come out with something looking dowdy. Any ideas on a chic pattern for it? It is cotton poplin (97% cotton, 3% lycra)

Reply to blessedtosew Date: 6/30/09 10:26 PM I see one of those new wrap dresses in it that have a bodice area that fits well. ------ Sewing: A creative mess is better than tidy idleness. ~Author Unknown

Date: 6/30/09 11:02 PM I think a pencil skirt with some pleating or drape detail would look sharp and up-to-date, vintage inspired. ------ I've moved! Visit my new sewing blog at http://chiralcraft.wordpress.com

Date: 7/1/09 0:00 AM a sleeveless summer dress, maybe with a bateau neckline or scoop neck? Anything fussy would cut up those flowers. Next page>> |

Reply to Em's Summer Date: 7/1/09 10:50 AM Now how did you do that? That is neat. I don't know if it is flawed. Do you think fabricmart would be honest with me if I emailed them and asked? Thanks everyone for the ideas. -- Edited on 7/1/09 10:56 AM -- Next page>> |

Reply to blessedtosew Date: 7/1/09 11:06 AM I see flowing skirt. I see a wrap top. I also would think a wrap dress. A jacket with sold blue jalie jeans. That would look very nice. The fabric looks just fine i see no flaws. the dark part is the demtions in the leaves and the flowers.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Reply to skae Date: 7/1/09 5:08 PM I am going to do a sheath dress, but I want an interesting neckline. What I am thinking is S6723

in View D
but instead of the full skirt, I want to morph a straight skirt onto it.

Date: 7/1/09 6:07 PM I'd be sure to make 3/4 pants out of that, with a white fitted shirt on top... Next page>> |
