i am looking 4 a wide heavy knit, the kind often found at the bottom of a bomber jacket. i have googled it but have not seen it any where. Please let me know of any source and also if you have sewn with it before, and how it went. thank you also if you know of a source that has a stripe going on it as well that would be great.

if a little voice inside says dont buy that fabric you have so much, you know your not pushing the cart with the loud wheel to the cutting counter fast enough!

Try Seattle Fabrics. You want their 2X2, scroll down. Colors are limited in the heavy weights.
Have you ever bought this stuff before? FYI, it's tubular. Check dimensions and modify your pattern if needed to make the most of it. Also, stretch varies quite a bit. It seems a 40% reduction for stretch as compared to the dimensions it sews to, will work nearly always. To keep it from getting wonky, finished width (after doubling) of the cuff or waistband should be minimum 2" (kids) but I like 2.75-3" for adults. I've made so many of these jackets in my lifetime I think I can do them in my sleep.
I'm always on the look out for heavy ribbing in *wild* colors, an endless quest.
