Date: 8/11/09 11:19 PM Anyone interested in joining me in sewing this DKNY Knock off?
Simplicity 2603

DKNY Cozy
Don't miss the video! That's what really sold me to this pattern.
If silk jersey came in 60" width I would have splurged. But it doesnt so lightweight jersey it is. Do you think Rayon Jersey would work or is it too stretchy? Any other fabric suggestions?

Date: 8/12/09 1:39 AM I just made this, but haven't reviewed it yet. I used the Vera Wang Lavender Label Lux Jersey from fabric.com (NAYY), and I think it turned out really well. (Christina Sonja also made this in the same fabric.)
I think that rayon jersey would actually be a really good choice--something like the 11oz rayon jersey from EmmaOneSock or the "midweight" jersey from Gorgeous Fabrics would work really well. If you want a lighter weight version, you could even try the bamboo/cotton jersey from fabric.com.

Date: 8/12/09 8:49 AM I'm in. I have the Luxe jersey that Christine made it out of. I was worried it'd be too slick but she said it worked fine. However, I am planning on making it out of a very thin rayon jersey I bought from Fabric Gallery locally. It's almost see through and I don't need any extra bulk
I have a couple other things in the lineup but I could move this one up. ------ http://kimsewsilly.blogspot.com/ |

Date: 8/12/09 8:54 AM I saw Christina's review. That's what sold me on it actually The luxe jersey is polyester, so I think I might have to try the rayon jersey then. ------ - Deepika

Date: 8/12/09 9:33 AM Is anyone making the shell too? I was thinking that the shell should be pretty form fitting like the model in the video and Simplicity version does not look like it is. Good idea to go down a size? I'll go look at Fabric.com now. ------ - Deepika
