Well, I guess I should figure that if things are too good to be true they are...I placed 3 orders recently and they got all three wrong!!

I guess I won't be ordering anymore from them. My first order of the Bamboo Jersey was shorted in the colour that I wanted. The second order they got one of the fabrics wrong. They replaced it, and I could keep the fabric that was wrong - not that I like it.

For the current order I ordered because the Denim was on sale (or at least it said so in the e-mail) when I looked in the sale items, there was no denim. I e-mailed them and they posted the denim, which I ordered immediately. Today I got an e-mail saying they made a mistake, they have no denim left. They won't sell me other denim at that sale price, so I cancelled my whole order, as the denim was the fabric I really wanted, the others I can live without.

Most of the other fabric I ordered was lovely and good price, but with a $25.00 USD shipping charge to Canada, its not worth the hassle of the mistakes. Have others experienced this? I was really surprised they would loose a $60 order rather than discount 3 yards of denim $2 a yard! That's an expensive way to loose a customer!!

They usually have the best Customer Service around. Don't you get the free shipping with $35 in Canada?

No we don't get free shipping in Canada, shipping can easily double the cost of an order. I e-mailed them to say I was surprised they would loose a $60 order for $6! The lady was very nice on the phone, just firm about not being able to substitute fabrics.

Have had no problem. They always send more fabric than I ordered, guess accounting for shrinkage. I sent some back recently and they refunded my money immediately and paid for the return shipping too. I could not be more pleased with a company. It is a bit of a scare ordering without touching and feeling the fabric though. I will order swatches from now on unless I am absolutely sure of what I am getting...such as 100% natural fibers. When you get into the lycras, polyesters and spandex it gets a bit dicey. In addition the color representation on computers is always a problem. I bought something I thought was a nice creme and it was an icky yellow (thus the return). For the most part their description is accurate. If they say khaki it is khaki. That nice creme was described as butter...I should have taken note of that. I have found things they have that I could never have found elsewhere. The time savings is a plus too....no hunting from store to store. Just take a few precautions and all is well.

I've been ordering from Fabric.com for well a year and a half. I've had the experience of them running out of fabric, and accidentally shorting a piece or putting what I didnt' order in the box. Normally when a minor mistake happens I chuckle. They are human afterall. I on average order 30+ yards and often more. Its a lot to put in a box and keep organized and when they can do it without any mistakes, more power to them. I enjoy the service I get from Fabric.com, i've never delt with anyone rude and I have even called to speak with someone personally about a few orders. They've always been helpful and very cheerful. Everyones going to have a different experience. Some people will never run into a problem, others will.

As for the demin you asked to replace for the discount. Its quite possible that it came from a different sorce, different wholesale price, different code. All those things can actually make passing on a discount more difficult to you. They do try their best to please and be helpful with all their customers like with most retail outlets.

I've also ordered from them a few times (to Canada) and not had any problems, though I do wish they had a free shipping option. Obviously they couldn't do it for a minimum of $35, but I bet a lot of us Canucks would go for it even if it was for a minimum of like $100 or something.

I've placed more orders on Fabric.com than I'd like to admit. Whenever there's been a problem with an order, it's always been handled quickly and efficently. I can understand that shipping charges to Canada makes Fabric.com not as appealing to Canadians. But for people living in the U.S., you can't beat the prices and service at Fabric.om.

I have placed a few orders with Fabric.com and have been very pleased. My first order was short a yard on each item. When I called they asked if the extra yard would be OK or if I needed the full yardage in one piece, and I could keep the yardage I already had!

It is scary to order without seeing and touching, but they make the experience worthwhile. What a shame Canada cannot get better shipping prices. We take a lot for granted in the USA with all the textile mills here and so much competition that prices are good.

I have also been very pleased with my interactions with fabric.com. In fact, I have never had a problem with any order. I have always been pleased with their prices, which certainly makes it easier to purchase without the ability to touch and feel. And their shipping has been super-fast. I think you guys are soooo lucky, as you already know! We don't have the luxury of good quality material without an exhorbitant price. I would lOVE LOVE LOVE to order from fabric.com, but the shipping cost really adds to it, in a big way. I know there are flat parcel services for international to Oz, and have had pple from the USA send me Singer sewing books in them, so I am not sure why pple don't look into this.

I tentatively placed my first order with fabric.com yesterday, for some rayon knit that is hard to find in Oz, and at USD 2.99, I ordered a total of 12 yards in different colors. The shipping came to a whopping USD 65...so that it really didn't seem worth it...I have emailed them to ask if there is a cheaper shipping option. I would not mind receiving by sea, with a 6 week delay, if it meant saving money!
