Date: 9/28/09 3:25 PM I have been searching the web high and low and came across this group in the hopes that someone may have a pattern for the Drop Down Seat version of Adult Footed Pajamas. I have contacted some of the bigger companies that make these and they do not sell patterns.
I personally am not a sewer. I am going to be supplying the materials and paying someone to make these for me, but they need a pattern.
So if anyone here has access to a pattern for these or knows of a place to find one it would greatly be appreciated. |

Here's a drop-seated vintage one on etsy.
Among the new patterns, I think only Kwik Sew has anything similar, and it does not have the drop seat. This site however has a ton of RTW pjs in this style! -- Edited on 9/28/09 4:10 PM -- |

Date: 9/28/09 11:31 PM Hi Elona,
Yes I did see those, Thanks though. The PJ's are going to be for my fiancee and I was looking to get them done in Eagles Fleece or Flannel printed fabric. I would use the Kwik Sew pattern, but I really was shooting for that drop down seat. Sigh, I have a feeling I may be bagging this idea until I learn to sew on a machine properly. |

I modified this pattern for DH. He did not want the drop seat or feet. I removed the seat and used a zipper instead of buttons down the front.
His 'bear suit' is out of a very heavy fleece pile.
He loves to wear it on colder evenings and mornings, it is far too warm to sleep in. ------ Proud parent of a Dwight International School Honour Roll Student |

Date: 9/29/09 1:15 PM Hi Michelle,
That one looks like exactly what I am looking for. I would probably have the seamstress sub in a zipper where the front buttons are. But from what I am reading everywhere that is the original drop seat footie pajama. Only problem is that it is out of print and near impossible to find, haha. But at least now I know what I am looking for without blindly typing in "footed pajama sewing pattern" lol.
Thanks! |

Date: 9/29/09 3:11 PM Do you know what size yours is? Although I would imagine it is easier to make an item bigger then to try to piece together an item using your imagination and a basic pattern. |

Date: 11/12/10 12:27 PM I'd like to get one of these drop seat patterns. I was going to use a 1-piece animal costume pattern (Simplicity 2853 & 2855) to make a blanket sleeper for a friend. Then I realized if it's cold enough to need to wear it, it'll be cold enough to not want to take it off to use the toilet.
If anyone still has even a used pattern, that would be of great help. |
