How do I do the tabs?

I have never made tabs how do I do these? http://www.photoquiltcreations.com/photowallhangings

They look pretty easy.

Cut two pieces of fabric (for one tab) out about 6 inches long and 2 inches wide with a point on one end. Sew them together (use 1/4 inch seam allowance=which makes a 1 1/2" wide tab) right sides together leaving the short straight end open. Turn and press. Attach to back of quilt and have them come forward where you'll put a buttonhole and/or button.

The length might be too long, but that's easy to trim up. Better too long than too short, huh?
