Date: 10/19/09 4:12 PM I love this dress in the picture of the Macy's mailer. It looks less flattering on the web site, when the pleats are open. I wonder if it is actually wearable or the pleats get completely out of shape from moving, walking...
Anyone knows a pattern that has similar lines? The diagonal lines and multicolor makes it very interesting. Does anyone have ideas how to imitate the look, but without pleats?

Date: 10/19/09 4:39 PM If you look at a closeup, you can see that they're not actual pleats, but bias strips. You should be able to use a simple sheath dress pattern as a base and sew the strips on one by one.
