As you are (hopefully?) finishing up Halloween costumes and plans and ready turn your attention to the holidays, at least for those super planners at this date, here Holiday Contest rules. This one, as you see in the dates, runs for 2 months. Plenty of time for everyone to sew up plenty of lovely things for yourself or others.

I'll not be participating obviously but will be sewing along with all of you. I have a few gifts I already completed for my kids. Otherwise I'm still in the planning stages for the rest, especially for DH. I hope to be out of the planning stage by December this year though!

Do items such as dress clothes needed for the holidays count? Or only gifts?

Looks like people made gifts for their kids (holiday clothing) last year just fine. Remember for this contest they can be gifts for any occasion, so not necessarily saved until the end of December for giving.

JUST entered the Halloween contest, my first, and am waiting for my pics to upload to Flicker. Saw this while browsing (waiting) and thought this would give me some incentive to get some gifts done. We have a lot of gift giving since we have 9 kids, 12 grandkids, and now 6 great grands (twins born this week). That and a variety of nieces, nephews, friends, etc. Usually give homemade cookies at Christmas, but now might be a time to save $$ and reduce my stash. Looking forward to making lots of projects - Starting Tomorrow!! Thanks for the inspiration.

I'm in sew-along mode! (As a CC member I can't join contests). I have at least one sewn gift this year, fleece undershirts for my DSF (that's Dear Step Father). Not sure if anything else will come up.

Maybe I should sew myself a holiday dress as well. Probably won't happen, though.

DD has requested the machine-embroidered tree skirt that I didn't get to last year. They put up a small tree on the bar but are planning the big one this year. Not sure how I'm going to do it other than the embroidery but probably outline quilting or stippling. I love this contest even if I only make a few items and am looking forward to participating.

Yes! Now that I have finished and reviewd my entry in the LBD I am in holiday sewing mode, and will start a ball gown for DDs holiday ball tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's projects. I've got a lot of gifts to make.

Last year's Holiday Contest was great fun.
