Date: 10/31/09 1:05 AM So, I'm getting married December 19th in Iowa. December in Iowa is FREEZING, and with a strapless wedding dress my mother has decided to sew me a full length cape - hood and all. And we would like to put a fur edging around all the, well, edges. However, we are doing wedding on a serious budget, and therefore, we need to find faux fur (preferably trim, although my mother is willing to cut the fabric) for a very reasonable price that is still going to look classy and not cheap or costume-y. Can anyone please direct us???!?!? |

Date: 10/31/09 2:35 PM Well yardage is determined by if it's trim or fabric. We were really looking for trim that's well priced, but the fabric might be okay. Do you know how the quality is for the fur from fabrics.com? |

Date: 10/31/09 2:53 PM before ordering check your local fabric store on Faux Fur . a few years back i made a cape and i cut 2-3 inch strips of that stuff . I recently made my daughter a costume and used less then a yard. I would use the long fur instead of the short it will look much nicer and cover the edges. |

Date: 11/2/09 11:16 AM Have you checked JoAnn's? I know I've seen white fur trim at my local JA and though I didn't look closely at it, it looked good from a glance. It's not part of their costume fabrics and located with their regular trims.
I can't wait to see a picture. My SIL had a fur trimmed boloro style jacket for her December evening wedding that looked gorgeous. Her's was more of the round looking trimming. ------ http://sweetnotions.blogspot.com/ |
