When PatternReview reaches 200,000 members

Date: 11/1/09 10:17 PM I didnt realize how close we are getting to it until I received an email from a member asking how we should celebrate. So I told her that since PR is about it's members, lets all discuss here. What do you all suggest we should do? ------

Perhaps we should start a "200,000 Members" thread where we could post messages about how PR has changed our lives (and our sewing) for the better. When do we think the 200,000 members milestone will occur?
It would be nice to have an article in the newsletter on the history of the website along with highlights along the way. It would also be interesting to see some statistics -- the number of visitors and active users in a day, week or month.
Perhaps Deepika could add a bold Headline to the top of each screen that says "200,000+ Members and Counting!" That way everyone will know.
Perhaps we could register for a drawing for some prizes. ------

I second all of the above suggestions.
Perhaps it would also be fun to learn a bit of PR history -- who (among current active members) joined PR in its first year, how has PR changed since then -- that kind of thing.

It would be fun to have a running tally of the estimated number of projects this group has completed in a years' time. This data could also be used to estimate the amount of yardage bought, notions used, sewing machine/sergers etc purchaed. Deepika, I'd imagine advertisers would love that kind of data...
For us readers/members, it would be fun to have random drawings, matching garment with sewist contest, fun and silly stuff that would help build a community. Of the 200,000, only a small number are active on the boards or in the gallery...many read but don't participate in discussions. The above contests might involve more people.
This is a great place and I am in awe of how it came into being and that it has been maintained in such a positive way. It is very special. Next page>> |
