Date: 11/2/09 2:38 AM Hello from cold and wet blighty.(UK) havn't been on for a while. I recently emailed janome and asked why their attachments had gone up in price and they explained it was because of the Economic climate. £69 - £89 for a binder.
Also I asked them if the 1200 coverlock belt looper foot would fit on my Janome 1000cp. They said no. I also asked if they were going to produce one for the machine but they didn't answer that question. All the other coverstitch machines have them. I can't understand why this doesn't. Such a useful attachment.
QUESTION: sorry ranting........ Do any of you ladies have a belt looper attachment from any other make/model and use it on the Janome cp 1000? |

Reply to fengirl Date: 11/2/09 2:20 PM Elna has a great little clear plastic belt loop foot that folds the fabric as it sews with the cover hem stitch. You can see it on line and also how it is used in videos. I think the price of this foot has also gone up considerably in price.
Even though Janome and Elna machines are similar now, I doubt that this foot would fit on a coverpro machine but could probably be used on the newer Janome coverlock combo models. |

Reply to Betakin Date: 11/3/09 2:44 AM yes thankyou, I emailed Janome with the question about the clear belt looper foot attachment for the 1200 coverlock. They told me that it would not fit the 1000 cp series.
I mentioned that it seems stupid that they don't make one for this machine, all the other manufacturers have them.
They said they would not be making a belt loop attachment for the CP series.
I am thinking of buying a Babylock belt loop attachment and see if I can modify its plate.
If I had known before I bought the janome I think I would have waited and saved extra for another make with the attachments you need. |

Reply to fengirl Date: 11/3/09 2:17 PM That is a shame that this snap on Elna belt loop foot would not fit the other machines. There are no other attachments needed ...just feed in the fabric and the foot folds it as you stitch with the cover stitch. |

Date: 11/3/09 5:10 PM Hi Fengirl - it looks you can purchase a generic belt loop folder for your Janome CP1000 through the ebay guy. Please look at the first page of the original Janome coverstitch thread (under sergers, coverstitch and hemmers - the first pinned topic); about a 1/3 way down you can click on "ebay binders and belt loop folders". When you get to ebay, type in belt loop folders and voila! Currently there are a few for sale of varying sizes. Good luck! Donna |

I looked at them on ebay. I don't really know what size I need and I'll have to check about the needle guage?????
I will look into perhaps making it worthwhile to order a few items, as long as I don't go overboard, they sting you very hard here with VAT = hidden taxes etc at customs. So you have to weigh up the prices from usa + hidden added taxes or pay and take a chance on the babylock one and try to adjust it.
I do so wish we had the resources you have in usa or australia for sewing and serging. A lot of things that you girls talk about you can't find here. Here a babylock belt looperfor evolve is £28.95
perhaps I'll also do some ringing round. thanks anyway. |
