Date: 11/2/09 9:54 AM I posted about my new job in the Misc. and misspelled the name of my town in the title. I have gone back and tried to fix it but it is still not spelled correctly in the title. What am I doing wrong? I want it to be speeled correctly so I don't look like an idiot! ------ Bernina 1630, Janome 634D serger, Brother ULT 2002D, PE Design 5.0, Janome CoverPro 1000, Viking Optima 190 Next page>> |

I don't think titles can be edited -- I could be wrong.

Subject: Cant Edit Title of Post Date: 11/2/09 11:16 AM Mrs. Moos, your topic was just edited ~ you wanted it to be "Chico", right?

I want it to be speeled correctly so I don't look like an idiot! | Well, it seems like I am a serial typo! SPEELED correctly? That sounds REAL GOOD huh? Gotta watch those keys!
Thanks Eleanor for fixing the title--yes I am in Chico. I wonder if anyone looked on their map for Chioco Ca? ------ Bernina 1630, Janome 634D serger, Brother ULT 2002D, PE Design 5.0, Janome CoverPro 1000, Viking Optima 190 Next page>> |

LOL -- Murphy's law of typos says that you're most likely to make a "speeling" mistake in a post about spelling OR right after you've written "excellent attention to detail" in the cover letter for a job application. ------ When we dismiss or deny the hopes of others, we forget that they, like us, have only one chance in this life. ~Alexander McCall Smith (speaking via Mma Ramotswe in Tea Time for the Traditionally Built, book 10 of The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series)

I must admit I wondered where Chiaco was. I thought maybe it was a tiny town in the mountains or something. ------ OH NO! You've done it just like I told you!!!

Date: 11/3/09 6:50 PM By all means do not spell a word wrong, either by mistake or by typing so fast that you miss a letter, and you don't notice you actually made a mistake in spelling until after you post your message. Because someone will certainly point out your error. I had several misspelled words and have been corrected more than once.....how annoying. I know I am not perfect, but I don't need people to point it out. I just like to have advice on topics not a spelling lesson. Sorry just venting. Next page>> |

I sure wouldn't have pointed it out if Mrs. Moos' post hadn't been about trying to correct a spelling error -- I got the feeling she would appreciate the humor. Hope I was right.
P.S. People on PR are actually very nice about NOT pointing out spelling errors and so on, so please don't be afraid! By contrast, most forums and other Internet venues get pretty darn nasty, and people pick each other apart for just about anything, valid or not. I'm very glad PR is a different sort of Internet community.

Date: 11/4/09 5:42 PM I am so sorry, I didn't mean you. If is just I am new to PR and I have posted every times, each time I had typo's from typing so fast on a very little computer, and each time it was pointed out, and I actually got the feeling they were making fun of me. I guess I am just way to sensitve. I really love reading posts, and learning from others. I guess I just have had a rough time keeping my fingers on the right keys. So please don't think I was being mean, I just was hurt. Next page>> | Please LOGIN or Create Profile
