I LOVE Marcy Tilton's patterns, but I am a plus size, C cup in the bust, and the patterns I see of hers are all misses.
How would I go about altering these to fit me correctly?

Marcy Tilton's patterns tend to run large so I go down a size when I make them with good results but I haven't made any of her more fitted looking tees, just jackets, shrugs, vests and pants. Her book on making tops and tee shirts for Taunton has some good information on adding a bit of room through the bust and a small dart from the armhole toward the fullest part of the bust for better fit. The bottom of the last page of the tee shirt gallery section of her website (http://www.marcytilton.com/index.php?cid=194&cp=5) has instructions for adding a bust dart and some extra fabric for better fit for full busts too. If you haven't, take a look at her website including the video sample from her tee shirt cd.

Bottom line is to do some tissue fitting and try a muslin in fabric similar to what you'd use for a "good" version of the pattern.

You are wonderful! I guess that since I have gained a lot of weight, I get scared trying to "re-fit" my misses size patterns. I just think that Marcy's t-shirt designs are awesome. I will do what you tried.

Boy, you made my day! Thank you. Actually I just ordered fabric from her website last night - her rayons are wonderful as are her pant fabrics. Someday I'll make it to one of her sewing retreats but probably not until I hit another one of those birthdays that end in a zero ...
