Date: 11/6/09 2:59 PM Hello all, does anyone know of a pattern that would resemble the gown in the photos? I'm looking for something very flowy and ethereal and love the dress pictured. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Date: 11/6/09 5:27 PM What would you consider the key features in the sample gown? Ie, what draws your eye to it?
There are a couple of Vogue patterns you might be able to work with; V8288 has the dropped-waist bodice; V1030 has the frothy skirts. ------ ~Gem in the prairie |

This Burda has a pretty flowy skirt design, but is different from what you've posted. I just really like it so I thought I'd post it

Date: 11/6/09 8:31 PM Thank you all for the great suggestions. I like the idea of using V8288 because I really love the dropped-waist feature of it. |

Reply to fmed22 Date: 11/7/09 3:06 AM Here are a couple of out of print Vogue available on their website with dropped waists.
With this one you could easily have the waist a little less dropped if you wanted and could add more gathers and layers of skirt if you like. The top is simple princess lines which makes it nice to use if you want to create the detail with the fabric using a lacy fabric or whatever you like.
V8389
another dropped waist
V2905
this one you could drop the waist a little more if you wish, has the flowy skirt.

Date: 11/7/09 6:34 AM The corset style top gown was popular a few years ago- you could look at the vintage pattern sites to see if you can find something close enough to adapt- I would think a corset style top that was beaded, and then a multi-layer full skirt of chiffons and georgettes might give you the look-
take a look at these from ebay:Vogue 2810
This has definite possibilities-with either skirt

this might be adapted- why not?
this pattern has the shrug-if you made it out of the right fabrics and heavily beaded the bodice you could get close:
