Date: 11/9/09 3:39 PM Chat Room Tutorial for Sewing Classes
When participating in live chats for your sewing classes, you'll need to follow a few simple steps.
Click on the Chat Room Link from either your e-mail reminder or from the Chat Room icon from your Class Room.
When you do that, it'll log you into Digichat with your PatternReview profile. DigiChat is a 3rd party software we use for conducting online chats.
Once you are logged in, click on the Rooms Tab and double click on the classroom you'd like to go into.

If the classroom is password protected, it will popup a password box where you'll type in the class password.

You are now in the room where the chat will take place. To participate, type in the maroon box and either hit "enter" or click on the Send button.

Date: 2/21/10 5:25 PM Deepika - I am having trouble accessing the chat rooms on my new Apple (works fine on our Dell Netbook). Our Apple indicates that we have appropriate AppleScript (their version of Java). Any suggestions?

I'm trying to participate in my first online sewing class and have problems with the chat. When I click on chat room, I don't see any of the class taps on the right. I went to the java website and updated java, still nothing. Any suggestions?

No the chats are not required for the lessons. You can view the transcripts for any previous chat from your class room page if you want to review or missed a chat.
Chats are a fun way to interact with fellow students and your teacher however the actual lessons are contained in the downloadable PDF files.
You are also able to interact with the instructor and other students by posting messages on the class message board.

Date: 7/1/10 2:42 PM Sorry if this is explained somewhere else. How do we tell what we are supposed to do before a class chat? For instance, the cloning class I'm in has 5 lessons and 3 chats. Am I just supposed to do as much as I can by the time of the first chat or get through a certain number of the lessons or what is recommended?
thanks |

Date: 9/19/11 5:50 PM I'm taking the all zipped up class and I can't get into the chat room. I've downloaded the java and I still can't get into the chat room. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
