Because we have such long winters, I've decided that I am not going to limit myself to pants. So I went to TJ MAXX and bought some nice tights to wear under some of my skirts. Problem is the skirt is riding up. Ugly!!! Whats the solution?

The tights are nylonish and the skirt is heavy weight knit (Poly blend I think).

When I wore nylon stockings regularly I used to rub moisturiser over them to reduce the cling factor. (I used to keep a cheapy in the office drawer for that purpose, in fact. My skirt linings used to static cling to my stockings all the time. Not a good look.)

I wear slips under clingy skirts. I am also always very cold, so the extra warmth isn't an issue. =)

Try rubbing a dryer sheet on the front of your thighs which is where the skirt usually begins to "hang up" on the nylon tights. --Lily

I live in Wyoming and I know exactly what you are talking about. I had that problem too! I used a slip, but now if I were to do it again I would line the skirt with a sheer nylon or poly fabric so there is not that extra gap which is created with a slip...if you know what I mean...if the slip fabric is not attached it kinda floats. No spray solution lasts all day at work I found.

There is an anti static spray available at the grocery store.

I now line all my knit skirts with a knit mesh type lining....keeps the skirt from clinging to all my curves and makes it hang better and keeps the skirt from riding up when I wear tights.
I wore just such a knit skirt and top today (bamboo lycra knit lined with mesh knit) and tights, no riding up of any and no need to spray cling free spray or use hand lotion (both of which I have used in the past too)....

Where do you get that lining fabric. Also are microfiber tights better for this?

you can use a tricot for the lining...trimfabrics has it at silly prices ifyou buy it in bulk. If you wear a slip, your skirt won't stick to your skirt even in tights...its all I wear all winter...

the only time it didn't work was when i wore a skirt with tights..yes with a slip..with a fake shearling jacket and a backpack..there was too much frictionfrom the rough fake shearling against the skirt..I got rid of the jakcet..and all is well now

Sorry to say they still stick with the microfiber tights. Have 'em, love 'em, wear 'em most days in the winter. And a half slip between them and my skirt. Even then, if the skirt has any poly in it at all I may have to use the icky anti-static spray. Bemberge lining does help, if you line your woven skirts,
