Date: 11/18/09 2:07 PM I am looking for an elastic waist pant pattern with nice pockets, preferably slanted. I don't want something billowy, more straight legs but not narrow legs. I am not a heavy person, I'm 5'5" and about 133 lbs., but I have a rectangular figure. That's a nice way of saying I don't have much of a waistline. I would also like to find a nice trouser pattern, no pleats, with a split waistband like menswear pants so they could be adjusted with weight loss and gain. I would also like these pants to have a nice slanted trouser pocket. Also, if anyone knows of a pull on pant pattern that has no side seam, I would love to hear about that one too! I have looked at so many patterns I am about to loose my sight!
Thanks for any recommendations you might have!

Reply to SEH1950 Date: 11/18/09 5:22 PM Lose Hinse Oxford pants are my go to elastic waist, best fitting (after alterations) pattern. I have narrowed the legs in some cases, and morphed it in other ways, including making it have no side seam (like Louise Cutting one seams....which are too wide on me). I will include both links...
LH Oxford pants
LC One seam pants
Can't help with the other request, except to say that you can always split the back portion of the waistband in a regular trouser pattern, add sa and make your own split waistband for altering later...this probably would not work as well with a contoured band as a straight band.
If you search one seam pants on the boards, you will probably find someone else's pattern too. |

Reply to SEH1950 Date: 11/19/09 7:36 PM Can't help with the elastic waist pants but as far as the trouser pattern goes this one could fit the bill.
It has a split waistband at the back and the back crotch seam line has been drafted with extra wide seam allowances so that you have room to adjust for fit once you have it put together. Comes with different leg and pocket options.
