Date: 11/20/09 4:54 PM I'm trying to make a faux-wrap knit top for the 1st time, and something is wonky about the fit. I'm using a very thin rayon knit. The alterations I made were raising the center V so it is less plunging, narrow and forward shoulder, and increasing a size from bus to waist. I'm getting very ugly pulling and distortion at the side seams. I'll try to post some better pictures later, but I'm having a little camera trouble so this is the best I can do right now:

Any idea what's wrong here? |

Date: 11/20/09 7:35 PM Hi Sue
I think your top look pretty good - which wrinkles are you referring to - the ones on your right hand side look like they are "suppose" to be there - because of the wrap?
This is a very nice color for you.
Have a great day. ------ My passion is sewing and fitting perfect garments. But, I’m also passionate about teaching others to fit and sew perfectly fitted garments. I know how frustrating the fitting proses could be.
If you need any assistance visit my website, (http://perfectsewandfit.com/) I’ll try my utmost best to see how I can help you achieve that perfect fit.

Date: 11/21/09 0:10 AM This pretty fabric, being a thin rayon knit, will emphasize every fold or ridge. Therefore, a fuller, drapier design would have been a little easier, because it just becomes part of the look! The diagonal wrap is sitting too high on your bust, so it has to slide back down the slope , which makes that fold. I know you wanted a more modest neckline, and the wrap, in the correct spot, would be too revealing. Any chance of a dickie concept? A bit of lace?
