Date: 11/20/09 11:15 PM I recently purchased some beautiful sweater fabric from EOS and would love to make a twin set. Does anyone have a recommendation for a twin set pattern? |

Date: 11/21/09 11:43 AM Lots of people in my sewing lab like Loes Hinse's sweater set. A few indy fabric stores may carry them and you can order them on line maybe even through PR. I hope you will do a muslin first. |

Date: 11/21/09 12:24 PM I like Jalie 2566 I've made this pattern a ton of times for both myself and my 6 year old daughter.
Sheesh. Edited to fix the link (which was NOT supposed to point to me, LOL). -- Edited on 11/24/09 10:04 AM -- ------ Trinity

Date: 11/21/09 4:04 PM how about the jalie pattern 2566 ------ ý1 Corinthians 13:4-7 "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Reply to LynnRowe Date: 11/21/09 10:52 PM My favorite is Kwik Sew 2948, too. I have sewn it many times, varying lengths, sleeves, etc. I have not tired of it--it's definitely one of my most frequently used patterns! I do recommend it heartily. |

Reply to beth5646 Date: 11/22/09 8:00 AM I can't compare many patterns for twinsets. I've only used the Loes Hinse twinset pattern and I've used it 3 or 4 times. I do recommend it - good results, easy to follow instructions, fast/no fuss sewing.

Date: 11/24/09 9:17 AM I used a Burda WOF t-shirt as the basis for my latest twin set. It came out amazing. I used the t-shirt sans sleeves and lowered the front neck for the shell. For the cardigan part I added 3/4" to the front and cut out two fronts instead of one on the fold. I folded back the 3/4" for the front facing, and just turned and stitched the neck edge. I have gotten more compliments on that twinset than almost anything else I wear. Marcy Tilton has an article in Threads about using a T-shirt pattern as a base for a cardigan. If you can find that article, it's a good resource. ------ Deb: www.thinkingcouture.blogspot.com |
