Subject: Chat sessions Date: 1/9/10 2:25 PM Hi,
I love the skirt that you have posted for the class!
I am a just learning how to sew and would love to take your class, but 2 of the Chat sessions are at the same day ime as my church so I would not be able to make those sessions. Are the chat sessions mandatory?
I would also like to know if you will be offering this class again in the near future. I would like to share it with some friends in a quarterly newsletter. Next page>> |

Date: 1/9/10 2:50 PM Hi lowider.
Thanks, and I'm so excited that you're interested in taking the class. I don't think that the chats are mandatory. Plus my instructions have a lot of photos to help you along. Also, I would be more than happy to help you with any questions you may have separately from the chats. As far as offering the class in the future, I think it depends on how much interest there is. I look forward to sewing with you soon, Happy Sewing. Jen Next page>> |

Subject: Deconstruct Reconstruct Jeans Lesson Date: 1/16/10 7:57 PM Hello Jennifer,
My question is similar to the earlier one, except I won't be able to attend any of the chats, as I live "Down Under" and will be sleeping at that time. Will I manage without any chat. I would love to make this skirt from an old pair of jeans. I am a fairly experienced (read addicted and passionate) sewer.
Thanks,

You will do just fine even if you don't attend the chats. Jennifer's lessons are so good that you won't even need the chats. They are just a lot of fun if you can attend. The transcript is posted the next day so you can still benefit from the chat. ------ - Deepika

Subject: What kind of jeans to look for. Date: 1/20/10 12:25 PM Hi CCQ,
If you don't have a specific pair of jeans in mind, I would look for a pair that are slightly too small (that you could add at least a couple of inches to). You can also work with jeans that are slightly too big, (but not more than a few inches because it gets hard to find places to take them in without getting too close to the pockets.)
As far as style, whatever you like. You can find jeans that already have embroidery on them or fancy topstitching that you can incorporate into the overall design. The fun part about this class is that each skirt will have a different look...I love the possibilities! Hope that helps! Next page>> |

Thanks - that does help. I have the perfect resale shop in mind to find a pair.

Date: 1/24/10 5:07 PM Hi Jennifer, I have just registered for your class, Decon to Recon your Jeans and this is my first PatternReview.com online class. I see that there are 5 lessons and 3 chats. I have added the chat schedule (time and date) to my calendar, but I don't see a schedule for when lessons will be ready. Do you have one? Thanks! Next page>> |

Subject: Class Lessons Date: 1/25/10 8:19 AM Hi Baysicknits,
Thanks so much for signing up for! I believe that the lessons will be available for download on the first day of class. I think you'll love them because they are easy to follow--accompanied by lots of photos and illustrations! Next page>> |
