There are reviews here for Janome machine just like the 2010. It is the same machine as the HT2008, and the Kenmore 19110 (a Janome made machine). And as the refurbished machine, the Janome 115110. A very nice machine.

Read the reviews and I think you will see a lot of information on models just like this one.

Are you looking at computerized machines in general?

we are not necessarily looking for a computorized one. we are looking for a nice beginner machine that is easy to use and one that will allow us to expand our sewing skills. one that will do well with denim is a must. we are open to all and any suggestions. we are newbies!!!!! thanks again!!

Well, I have one of these machines, the refurb Janome 115110 which is the same machine as the Kenmore 19110. We love it. I have never used a more user friendly machine. My daughter just started sewing on it, and she had never wanted to sew on my other machines in the past except a tiny bit - now she loves that machine and has made several projects.

If you do not mind my asking, what price has been quoted to you? The 19110 at Sears is 299 and worth it, and usually goes on sale fro 249. The Janome DC2010 is selling online for 399 at several reputable vendors, and may be a little more at dealers. However at dealers you should have support if needed in a more convenient distance.

The 2010 seems like a very nice machine with great features. The Janome site states that it has Janome's SFS (Superior Feed System) plus the box feed that the new Juki models have, plus a powerful DC motor.
I didn't see that it had a pressure regluator listed but the 2010 surely seems to have many nice features that not all Janome models have.

This is exactly the model I'm wanting right now. I have an older New Home (My Excel 23L) which was ok, but the manual was pretty much useless, and it's fairly obsolete by today's standards.
The DC 2010 would be an upgrade for me, and I really am interested in the feed dog system and the buttonholes. Let us know how you like it!
Good luck, Deb M.

I just bought the Janome 115110 (refurbished Kenmore 19110) from Overstock - it hasn't arrived yet so I can't review, but if you know that you want it the price is $199 (plus $2.95 shipping, no tax = pretty good bargain!) at Overstock. It seems to sell out quickly - I got the last one available last Thursday, but some showed up again yesterday - I see they're now gone, so you might need to be patient.

I got one of the Janome 115110 (basically the same machine as the DC2010) from Overstock.com, and I'm pretty happy with it. Typically I don't like computerized machines, but I'm enjoying this one quite a bit. Not so much computerization that it bugs me. I am loving needle up/down a lot, and automatic buttonholes are pretty awesome too! I recommend it.

I purchased the Kenmore version for my daughter for her 9th birthday. We love it. It is easy to run, maintain and sews beautifully. In thinking that the dc2010 is essentially the same..... I highly recommend it.
