Hi,

I have been using my machine all day for embroidery. I just switched to sewing and it will only sew backwards. I have tried pushing the reverse button numerous times that doesn't do it. I've turned it off and back on a bunch of times as well.

The shop I bought it from said I should try a different electrical outlet. I haven't tried that yet but I guess I will after I post this. I've only had the machine for 3 weeks. I'm hoping it is something stupid I did.

Are there any other suggestions from daily users of this machine?!?!?

TIA
Cassey

I don't have this model Viking..but on my Viking..if I press the reverse button more than once..it will continue to sew in reverse and meant to do so.
After turning off your machine and starting it again and it is still sewing in reverse..I suggest to clear the machine using the clear button and see if this helps.

I had this happen to mine SE LE but it would reset by turning it off and on. It was in the shop about 6 times and they replaced a bunch of parts but still did it at times. They switched it out for a new machine in October and the new one hasn't done it once. My previous one was on it's own outlet with a surge protector/conditioner and even tried different outlets, didn't help. The techs are very good where I bought it and they were stumped with it. Do you have a warranty on it? I would bring it in and have them look at it.

Betakin - Where is the clear button on your model? I don't see one on mine.

Copyright72 - I do have a warranty so if I can't figure it out by the morning I'll take it back in. I really hope it's not an issue where they have to replace it with a new one because they said Viking doesn't make this model anymore and that's why they had theirs on clearance.

My Viking is not an embroidery model..it is computerized though. It is an Interlude 445 and the buttons are probably placed differently.
On my Viking the CLR (clear) button is centered above the Sewing Advisor buttons and under the Function button.

Even when they replaced mine, they had a hard time getting a hold of a new one. But, first they tried to get me to trade up to the Diamond for only $3800 more! lol

Anyway, hopefully everything works out for you with it. Oh, also when I was going through the same thing, I posted the problem on the SE Yahoo group. There were a couple of people that did say they had the same problem. One of which said that hers didn't reset by turning it off and on. Unfortunately I don't think she ever posted what had happened with it, if they did get it fixed or they also had to replace it.

It seems this is not a new problem for this model. Did you find a clear button or someplace on the screen to clear the machine?
Was your machine new when you purchased it..I am wondering if it needs an upgrade. I know some of the computerized machines also need new batteries from time to time..(having batteries surprised me, as my different machines don't have them). I don't know if your machine does.
