the gathering foot ( SA213) is marked "LG" on the face of the foot

the Pearl Sequence (SA211) is marked "LS"

the piping ( SA210) is marked "LP"

I can not figure out what this last foot is...it is marked "LR" with a "4" right below it...

it doesnt look like any of the cording feet... it is elongated but not quite as much as the gathering foot. it has a hole in the toe ( which is why I was thinking cording foot)

help??

I have a Brother accessory catalog that pictures 5 serger feet and the only other 2 feet listed for sergers is the SA212 foot for tape and elastic and the other foot is the "blind hem foot."

The book also shows about 6 feet for the Brother Cover stitch machines.

There are more than 2 feet for the serger, even on the Brother website & in the machine manual....

in any case, does any of the Cover hem machine feet fit this description??

It's the basic serging presser foot that comes on the machine.

Hmmm, the LR-4 foot is the one that came attached to my 1034D and is used for regular serging. Maybe your model is different. My serger only came with 3 feet - this one, the blind hem foot and the gathering foot. I hope you figure it out

My 1034 came with that foot attached also, but now you've got me wondering... why *does* it have that hole in the end??

When the foot has a hole at the end it's so that you can insert tape for reinforcing the serged shoulder seams on knits without having to change to another foot. Can you post a picture?

I think you misread my post..I didn't say there were only 2 feet for the serger..I said that the accessory catalog listed 5 feet and 2 others than the ones you first posted about, plus about 6 more feet are listed in the book for the Brother Coverstitch models.
I have never owned or used a Brother serger but have owned several brands and used to sell them. Many of the feet that come on sergers are considered all purpose feet. I do know that Juki sergers comes with a very nice all purpose foot and possibly also the Brother does. The all purpose or general purpose regular foot might have holes in them for uses as already posted and also have long grooves for other serging tasks.
