If you've been wanting to sew a little knit top, that's just what we're going to do!

I've a crazy schedule today, but will post more info & details tomorrow.

We'll be doing a round or scoop-neck top, cap, short or long sleeves, with a neckline band and hemming. You can use a sewing machine, or a serger...or both! I'll post a range of patterns I recommend, along with pattern size and fabric tips. We'll pretreat and prepare the fabric, and practise various stitches to determine which we prefer. Then we'll get to the juicy part...sewing a little knit top!

I would love to join in, but I'm halfway through a top already. Is it OK if I lurk and ask questions?

I think I might try the knit and woven sew along. What a great learning experience :D.
I've made two knit pieces so far, tops, and have had issues with wavy hems on one side of my raglan sleeves and the bottom hem.

Otherwise, I love the drape of the knits I've been using. Yummy!

Looking forward to it!

That's exactly what happens to me Leu! I wish I could take a few pictures but I threw my tops away!

Does anyone know if Jalie patterns can be purchased at Joann's, Hancock's or Hobby Lobby? Or must they be ordered online? And if online, which is the best place to order from? Thanks :)

I'll be following along with interest. I haven't had much success (or experience, to be fair) with using knits, so I've got a lot to learn...

Can you adjust the pressure foot on your machine? I find knits work better with less pressure and a walking foot is great too.

I ordered my Jalie patterns right here on Pattern Review.

Go to the "shop patterns & more" tab on this page to order.

I am going for a level of perfection that is only mine... Most of the pleasure is in getting that last little piece perfect...Inspiration is for amateurs. The rest of us just keep showing up and doing the work.
