If you write a review please drop a post here. Hope I'm not out of line here but no asking for a review or chat. I did drop in @ my local Joann's to look @ the Vogue Pattern book. Great presentations and some new Sandra Betzina patterns. Too bad this company does so little to make their fashion patterns with B-C-D-DD options. So, I wonder what us plua gals are thinking would be great Vogue patterns? Looks like Joann's is having a $3.99 sale for Vogue the 5-6-7 th of Aug. I was amazed to see that the retail price on some of the new Fall patterns were up to $30.00. Yikes.

When I am looking at the pattern reviews, I look for plus size reviews so having them in one place would be great. I have been sewing up a storm, but have yet to do any reviews. So far nothing has turned out the way I thought and have to make some moe alterations before I can wear the stuff (wearable muslins?). Need to take some pictures and post them. ------ Ada

Pix are especially helpful. Isn't there a old saying about learning more from something going wrong than "just" right. So, I guess I'm saying, please take some pix and write a few reviews. I am always amazed by the amount of sewing so mang folks do here. I think I might be a sewing voyeur--altho I did get out a simple UFO that I started --god forbid- 3 years ago and am finishing it up. Finishing UFO's is always a good feeling. I on the other hand just went thru some UFO's of which I had more than I thought and threw some of them away. I frequently have wadders (I have yet to review anything as I am such the computer dummy and havn't figured it out yet) and I just throw them out if I am unable to salvage the fabric for something else. I should be taking pic's just like the successful items for future 'what not to do or what style doesn't work for me' I am usually so embarrassed by the item, but I should be learing from it (and then figure out how to share it with others!). I know that when I check reviews on a specific pattern, I am looking the the good and the bad.

Date: 8/3/10 1:32 AM First of all I want to state that this was more of an effort than I thought it would be. Way to hot to be changing clothes today. The first outfit is KS 3530. I made the jumper. The fabric is a very light weight demin. I cut out the X-large and didn't do a FBA as the X-large had a finished bust measurement of 48". My bust is 45.5", which gave me 2.5" of ease. There is also a side bust dart which I thought would help the top from looking really boxy. I shortened the jumper by 3" as I am 5'3" almost. Things that went wrong. The X-large was too big under the arms..I had wings sticking out so I cut the top down to the large and the wings disappeared. The top then fit much better, however I also cut the skirt pattern down to a large. Wrong thing to do as now the hips are to tight. I think wearing a t-shirt underneath the jumper would make it look better, but I didn't think about that until after I saw the pictures. I ran into trouble when I started putting the band on that joins the top to the skirt. At this point I had to find the directions and start reading. The next big decision was how to treat the armhole and neck opening edges. The pattern has you use a binding. I thought about turning the edges over 5/8" and then using my cover stitch machine to sew them down, but in the end went with the bindings and used the cover stitch machine to sew them down. good choise. After thinking about this a lot, the only thing I would have done differently is use the X-large on the skirt. I don't think this is necessarily a good style for me, but I have worn worse. Even knowing it isn't all that great a look for me I still enjoy wearing it around the house. ps; I also noticed that the fit is the same on me as on the pattern envelope model. -- Edited on 8/3/10 1:34 AM -- ------ Ada
