My Daugter was just given an Adler 187 in pristine condition with the case and all of the attachments but there is no operating manual. Does anyone know where I can get one?? At least a threading diagram and a bobbin case instructions?

I was just given an Adler, which has the instruction manual. If you stll need it, I can scan it and send it to you. Please let me know via this site. Thanks.

I also have an Adler 187 in excellent condition and use if for my primary construction machine. I also have a user manual. One thing about the Adler x87 series of machines - they use a unique bobbin and bobbin case and they are extremely rare - don't misplace them. Here's a few quick tips on threading, etc. You've probably noticed that the arm shaft turns away from you rather than toward you. The threading is also quite different. There are no tension discs per se. After passing the thread through the upper thread guide, you wrap the thread one complete turn around the tension assembly and then 1/2-way around the separate check spring assembly. After threading through the take-up lever and down through the needle guides, you thread the needle right-to left. The needle must be inserted with the flat side facing left. Place the bobbin in the bobbin case so that the bobbin rotates clockwise when you pull on the thread end. Many unique features on the 187... If it operates sluggishly, there are a couple of hidden oiling spots that I can describe if you're having problems. This machine is a wonderful stitcher, when properly adjusted. If you have problems with skipped stitches or timing issues, I can probably help. David

Hi SD Kitty

I just inherited an Adler 187 and It's a beautiful machine but I don't know how to use it. Do you still have a manual, I would love to get the threading instructions and how to open the bobbin case. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Andrea

I just inherited an Adler, a beautiful mint green color. It has the numbers 152 on the inside of the arm. Can anyone tell me more about this machine, or where I might be able to locate more information?

Thank you,
Arleen
