I'm looking to buy a few more feet for my Bernina but I'm running out of space in the accessories box that came with my machine. I am wondering if it's worth to buy another accessories box (which costs about $50-$60) or if there are other solutions?

For Bernina owners with too many feet to count...do you buy extra accessories box or do you have other ways to store the feet?

Thanks!
Steph

My bernina 230 came with an accessories box, but I bought extra hangers for the box for feet.Have you run out of room completely? There is hangers for bobbins that are removeable and could be replaced by feet hangers.

I am a new Bernina owner and I already bought another plastic insert to hang more feet, so I have three rows of feet (not quite filled but almost) on the right side. I plan on buying one more wide insert and put below the bobbin holder to hold the feet with the glass eye (I have one).

If I were to accumulate more feet than what the accessories box can hold, I would put them into my sewing desk drawer in a silverware divider (that's how I put all my Janome feet but since I have the accessory box, I am using that). That cost me around $8.00 and is a great organizer. You can always use any kind of plastic container with or without dividers and that has a lid. That would be more suitable if you take classes and need to take all your feet with you.

If you prefer them hanging up so you can easily see them and/or read the foot number, and you don't mind buying another accessories box, then buy it. It really is a nice way to organize the accessories.

I agree. I really don't need the bobbins holder because I keep bobbins in my drawer already filled. I put mine at the top and am going to put a hanger below. I believe you would need another box if you have all the feet that are available.

My accessories box currently has 3 rows of feet and 2 rows of bobbins. I like the idea to get rid of the bobbin racks! How many rows of feet can I hang if I remove all the bobbin racks?

I am looking to buy at least 6 more feet and I only have 1 slot left on my foot rack. If anything, I wish I could get rid of the needle packet slots because I don't use it at all.

I use these boxes from Nancy's Notions:

You can adjust the compartments. Don't know if they are ideal for Bernina feet specifically, but they do work quite nicely with what I've got (low shank).

You can get one hanger on the top row and another above the needle pack slots, although you would only be able to hang two the the right of the slots. That should give you room to hang 7 feet. If you have any feet with the glass eye, that hanger holds maybe 4 (am buying one this Saturday).

I would like it if the needle pack slots could be removed as well. I won't use them.

Two Berninas in my sewing room, and I use the plastic boxes similar to the one Soolip uses. I use the plastic tackle/bait ones, that I find at WalMart in the fishing department---the single layer one and not the tackle boxes. I keep mine in a drawer in my sewing table. You might find something similar at JoAnn's on sale or with the 40% coupon.

Ah, here we go: bait box

Thank you for all your help. I went home and tested my accessories box. Due to the way it is designed, I can only put in 4 feet racks (1 on the left and 3 on the right). I am going to remove one bobbin rack (so I will only have 1, which will also be on the left) and buy a separate bobbin storage to hold other bobbins. I am also going to buy a storage like the one Doris W. in TN have and store feet in them.

I ended up ordering more feet and one of them is the new style feet which I don't know if it will fit in the foot rack, but we will see.

I have the new style feet and they fit in the hanger. If you have any feet with the glass eye, Bernina makes a hanger for those as well.
