Date: 11/10/10 1:22 PM Thanks, Chris, for the link. Like halleyscomet, I did a search and nothing came up.
However, after reading that thread, it appears that all but one person who posted have not used the system. So I guess my original question remains, are there people on PR who have used the Sure-Fit system and would care to comment on it? ------ Voet |

Date: 11/10/10 2:18 PM Nothing came up for me, either, so I un-hyphenated the word. I've looked for quite a few subjects on PR (that I KNEW were there, 'cause I remembered reading them), but couldn't find them because I didn't know the "exact" search word needed. Irritating, sometimes. I knew no one on that thread had used the system, but thought I'd link, anyway. Hopefully, someone will come along that's used the system. Sorry I couldn't have been of more help. Good luck! |

Date: 11/10/10 3:02 PM if you go to the search block in the upper left corner of this page and type in sure fit designs and select boards in the pull down menu, hit find. another page will come up change it to messages for the search on the next page you should find a message from miss fairchild ( the second one I think) click on it for messages about the system. I believe that a least one has used the sure fit designs system.

Date: 11/10/10 7:16 PM Hello, Voet. I looked at your question and realized I haven't written a review of this company. To answer your question, I've had this system for over 8 years. I really like the simple directions (anyone can read them), the hand drafting of the patterns gives me a visual idea of how a pattern is made, and the encouragement by Glenda to extend yourself into designing something is awesome.
I'm very happy to see she's come back into the market. I'd been watching for her to come back (she went on a hiatus) and when she came did, she sent an email--I'm that much of a follower. She is very supportive and encouraging, and the kits (I have three--Pants, Dress and Shirt) are very easy to use. Each kit has fashion leaflets which show you design changes, and they are very simple to do. To tell you the truth, because of her I'm able to break down a garment into simple pieces.
I used her basic dress pattern (I believe you'll be using her pattern for men) to make a fitting shell and now use the results of that as a sloper. I've made DH several pair of pants and even a shirt or two.
I can't say enough, and maybe I should say more and get busy and write a review. Thanks for giving me a nudge. ------ "We don't impose our rhythm on Nature. The key is to respect and live within Her." Jean-Charles Boisset, Winemaker

Date: 11/10/10 7:52 PM I have used her pants draft and have a very good looking pair of slacks. She is local to me so I took a class with her. It took 3 muslins to tweak the pattern -- I was the hardest person to fit in her class -- but it was worth it. If you like to have a basic pattern and then make design changes to it, it is worth a try. She is very helpful and will work with you until you have success. ------ Patti
