Look what I found!

Burda Archives

This is a russian site where they have been keeping an archive of the Burda since 2001! Just click on the links on the left, and you can browse trough old numbers.

Awesome! Great find!
I guess it would just kill Burda to do this SIMPLE presentation on their site??

Wow! What a wealth of information. I downloaded the Firefox translation tool and took a tour around the site. Fantastic.

I am in love with this. So, is this just eye candy, or can we do something about getting patterns? I used the Google translator and it helped a lot, but would love a source for patterns.

Thanks for such a lovely Christmas present.

If you use this link, you will be able to read this page in english

Google translation russian Burda archives

This site is real eye candy! Have you seen with the pictures from 2001, a magazine called "boutique"? I wonder if those are pictures from La Mia Boutique. In that case, it is quite surprising to see models who are not underfed and who actually smile without looking scary
Quite often I see old burda copies for sale on ebay or etsy. This site is great to have a peek at the patterns before buying!

What a fabulous resource. I just wish Burda would start selling some of the patterns from previous years as downloads on their website. Several times, I've wanted to track down certain patterns, but haven't had any luck finding the specific back issues I needed. This Russian site shows many patterns I'd love to have if they were still available.

Dear Joanico, Thank you so much for this link. I just got on my computer to find the line art for coat 109 in the January issue and all the foreign language Burda sites are down right now.

When I draft my patterns I'll print on a 5x8 envelope the line art, magazine photo and guide sheet (on separate paper). This is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to me and I was getting quite perturbed with not being able to access the pics for this coat. I have 5 yards of Fire-Engine Red wool that I've been holding on to for about 15 years and the coat pattern 109 is THE ONE.

I guess I'm a tad bit neurotic about my envelopes, but I want what I want when I want it. Thank you Thank you Thank you.
I sew all the time but rarely post reviews. Actually I've only posted one review, but I may show this one off. It's going to be awesome.

Happy New Year,
Rachel

Fabulous! I have been using the Russian site because, one they don't have obnoxious ad popups and they actually get the issue up before anyone else. But this, this is so much easier to use than the regular archives. Now if only they'd have an index by pattern number by issue. Love it. Thank you so much.
