Wonder Sock Knitting Loom Adjustable - newborn to adult

Can any weight wool yarn be used to make socks??? I like a thicker wool sock and sock yarn seems to thin. Any info will be helpful for this novice knitter, many thanks. It's not automated, you have to manipulate each stitch yourself. An added advantage is the knitting goes quite quickly compared to fingering weight and size 0. ------ wino

It works up nicely, fairly thick & washes well. I have tried thinner yarns but I am not crazy about it & I find it snags too...all that work for nothing! I have wanted to see those looms, but Hobby Lobby sells out as fast as they get them so I do not know what they look like. ------ I am a gal from Kalamazoo.... oh what a gal... smile.... I did take a socks class at my LYS but I really like the "Learn to Knit Socks" booklet American School of Needlework #1273 by Edie Eckman $6.95, All of the patterns are for sport weight yarn and the instructions are easy to follow. It should still be available. One thing-if you buy yarn at your LYS-you can get some help if you get stuck on your project. Good luck! ------ wino
